What Our Customers Say
We called last minute and reserved a table for Easter Sunday after visiting the local Greys Court National Trust. The pub was not busy but the drinks were good, the food very nice and the service friendly and excellent.
Its clearly family friendly, for example having a section of board games for people to play, and outside is a really nice and safe pub garden, with play equipment and trees to keep our son’s bird spotting interest occupied.
Apparently the pub is under new ownership, but what ever its past its now very nice, we will definitely return.
A lovely pub out in the country. Very charming with a beautiful garden! We had delicious starters, Sunday roast and homemade apple crumble! Sitting in the garden a sunny warm Sunday! Just perfect!
We ate here in January and had a great roast lunch so we’re apprehensive that the new management wouldn’t live up to the previous meal. We didn’t need to worry…..beautifully cooked rare roast beef, gorgeous roast spuds and lovely veggies, sat under the magnolia tree in the garden…..it couldn’t have been lovelier. The dogs were brought a water bowl and biscuits too.
We went off for a 10 mile walk, returned at 5pm and asked if there was any chance of having desserts, even though the kitchen was closed and a very cheerful lady said “the kitchens always open for pudding!” And 10 mins later we were presented with custard drenched apple crumble and bread and butter puddings! Just heavenly, the crumble is probably one of the best we’ve ever had!
Located in a lovely village with miles of walking trails in stunning countryside, we’ll be back again for another fabulous meal!
Thank you to everyone there who made a gorgeous, sunny day that much better!
The pub is under a new management who made us feel very welcomed and the staff was very friendly. We have ordered some steaks and the ribs which were absolutely delicious! There was a great choice of meals to include fish, chicken, steaks, burgers and “pub classic”. We have really enjoyed our time in there and definitely come back soon! The pub has a “soul”.
